Salutation Technologies
The
Salutation Consortium's technologies, which are available royalty
free, are intended to provide devices, applications and
services, which meet in a communication setting, the ability to
find out about each other -- an electronic salutation. Once
these entities have exchanged information about their
capabilities using the Salutation Consortium technologies, they
may tailor their interactions accordingly. The Salutation
Specification describes an API, a Protocol and optional data pipes and
job control to assist in discovery and use of devices,
applications and services that may encounter each other in a
communication setting. The architecture is based on a model
called the Salutation Manager.
